ACountryshop.com offers American Country Home Decor and Primitives, with a Colonial flavor. Originally from the North Shore in Massachusetts, I was surrounded with beautiful historic and colonial homes. While living near Salem, Marblehead, Ipswich, and Newburyport, just a short jaunt to the grocery store meant passing the Salem Witch House, original houses dating from the 1600's, and many wonderful sea captains homes. I believe that has heavily influenced the Colonial, Early American look that I favor. My idea of perfection will be when I get that "aura" of Nathaniel Hawthorne in my living room!

For years, I did the Juried Craft circuit, with hancrafted country primitive items. Eventually, we moved to New Hampshire and my desire and passion for "Country Living" and the lifestyle, prompted me to open my own home decor and gift store. Family run, my husband, myself, and our teenage twins all help to keep and run the store.

In the store and website, I am mindful of the broader audience and try to keep a good mix of all different styles of "Country", though my personal favorite is Colonial.

We have developed relationships with talented artists, handcrafters, and Master Craftsmen, which has enabled us to carry unique and high quality items and furniture. I support and seek out the small american cottage industries who keep the past alive with their craft, and help us

One of our specialties is our small wooden wares. We have cubbies, shelves and wall cabinets. Whether you are looking for a reproduction cupboard, a table tray or soap dish, they are all made with the same quality wood, and attention to detail. No screws or glue, and the finest historic paints.
