I have been married to the love of my life, Michael for 31 years. We have 3 grown children, the last of whom just recently went out on his own. We are thrilled that we became grandparents on November 3rd! We have two furry kids, an Alaskan Malamute, Kita & a kitty, Phantom.
We live in the woods at the foot of the Catskill Mountains, not far from the Hudson River.
We had our home built 23 years ago. Contemporary in style, but more recently I have grown to embrace an earlier style & have been working on giving our home that look, with the help of Michael of course!
I have a passion for baskets, salt glaze pottery, treen & just about anything that early folks handcrafted & love to share that passion with others.

Photo Right: Karen’s antique double-wheel coffee grinder immediately catches your eye. At one time this may have been used in an old country store, but now it is displayed proudly on top of this rustic wooden cubby. The wooden bowls and various textiles complete this whole primitive display.
Photo Left: What a gorgeous and substantial collection of pewter Karen has collected, arranged beautifully in this pine hutch. Notice how she hasn’t added a whole lot more to this display. The pewter stands on its own. With just a subtle touch of red from the apples in the bowl, it is a stunning display.
Photo Right: A close up photo of Karen’s pewter with just a few flowers tucked into a small pitcher. Sometimes simple makes the biggest statement.
Photo Left: All of the rich, warm tones in Karen’s kitchen make you want to sit right down and stay a while. The soft glow of the lamp and the chandelier give it that cozy feel. The focal point is the various baskets hanging above the double doors on a simple pegboard.
Photo Right: This crock lamp casts the perfect glow onto these two primitive wooden bowls. All the different wood tones compliment each other so well. Notice the large firkin and the antique bucket down below. The reflection of the candle in the window is a charming accent.
