Profile: I'm Karen Martinsen and I live in the southeast part of Wisconsin with my husband Doug. We have been married almost 46 years and are the best of friends. We have three married sons and five grandchildren!

My love for Penny Rugs came from visiting the Living History Museums such as Sturbridge Village, Colonial Williamsburg and places like that.

I have a passion for Colonial History and I like to represent some of the classic look in our home - although I don't have the true Primitive Colonial look I do believe we achieved the look we wanted for today's living and have it functional and not a museum.

My buisness is KM Primitives. I have enjoyed designing and making Penny Rugs for my own pleasure for several years and want to share my fun with others. This is my passion and I hope it

shows in my products.
